Document projects, custom environments, private data connectors & migration to 2.0

Renku 2.0 continues to deliver new features to empower you build collaborative research projects and create teaching materials. Here are the biggest changes introduced in our latest release:

  • :page_facing_up: Add documentation to your Renku project: make your Renku project your own with descriptions, links, images, formulas, and more. Check out our guide to Renku’s supported markdown to get started.
  • :technologist: Create your own custom Renku session environment from code: connect a code repository containing an environment.yml or similar, and let Renku build your session environment for you. At the moment, this functionality supports creating python environments, and we will be adding more modes soon!
  • :person_running: Migrate your projects from 1.0 to 2.0 automatically: migrating is as easy as clicking the button in the new migration banner at the top of your Renku 1.0 project. Learn more about how migration works in our documentation.
  • :locked: Create your private data connectors: use this new feature to include access to a private data folder for you, your project or your group without anyone else seeing it.
