# Switch EDU login not working for EPFL students

Hi all,

I’m teaching the practical part of an EPFL course through renkulab, and some students have issues to login through their EDU switch account.

Any idea how to solve this ?

Hi @bopekno - are they able to log in to [https://eduid.ch](https://eduid.ch)? Based on the screenshot, it seems to be failing at that stage.

One note of clarification - logging in with edu-id is not automatic if you have a university account - you have to create an edu-id account. Once you create the account you can link your university identity (or identities) to it. Maybe this was the issue?

Yes that was it, sorry for the confusion. I’ve created mine so long ago I did not remember how it worked exactly
